From Israel to the Turks & Caicos

guy_331.jpgWeddings, we love them all: big, small, Jewish, Catholic, on the beach, in a Church - you celebrate and we capture them!

Last Saturday, David and I had the wonderful opportunity to join Tammy and Roiy at Villa De Ligera (fabulous!) and photograph their special Jewish wedding.

A friend of the couple officiated at the ceremony (besides being really good and prepared, he was truly funny too!) bringing to Providenciales prayers and traditions from Israel.

I’m always fascinated by the festivities and the good humor that comes along with the “Mazel Tov” (good luck) and later on with the “Hora”.

Tammy and Roiy were truly amazing - thank you guys for sharing your wedding with us!

The ceremony location, with a perfect Chuppah that has belonged to the family for generations:

Tammy circled Roiy 7 times - with this symbolic gesture, the bride “builds the walls to her new home”, and the 7 circles parallel the 7 days of creation:

A little romance on the beach:

Once the “Hava Nagila”started the guests lifted Roiy and Tammy up in a chair and started dancing a traditional Jewish Hora. How fun!

I don’t think this belongs to the Jewish tradition, but the groom was thrown in the pool and followed (not always voluntarily) by friends and family. Our cameras were ready!
