Lots of new ideas for ‘08 at the Wedding Photographers’ convention

We’re always on the lookout for new tips and techniques to help us take better and more creative photographs, so earlier this month I went to Tampa in Florida to attend the annual convention of the Digital Wedding Forum.

The DWF is a worldwide association of photographers who specialize in weddings and portraits, and most of our industry’s top practitioners - including 9 out of 10 of the world’s top ten wedding photographers - are members. The Rhodes Family

After spending 4 days with the RBC Group doing all kinds of activities, from sailing to scuba diving to golf and fishing, the Rhodes Family had a couple of extra days left to relax in the beautiful Regent Palms Resort with their two lovely kids, Bailey and Cooper.They decided to do a photo shoot with us the day before their departure. Candice & Paul

Shooting Candice and Paul was a real piece of cake: gorgeous, funny, ready to play and in love. We started our session in the beautiful garden of Royal West Indies and, of course, head to the beach to capture the sunset.

Erin and Dan

Almost one year passed by since the first time I met Erin and Dan - it was a real pleasure welcoming them back to the island and, most of all, photograph their beautiful wedding.

They exchanged their vows in front of The Sands Resort and hosted an elegant reception at the Anacaona restaurant.

Danielle & Patrick

Not all of our weddings are multiple days with 150 people, we do get quite a few close intimate gatherings such as this special day. On January 10th Danielle and Patrick pronounced their vows in front of close family and friends on beautiful Grace Bay Beach.

Eight and a half months

The baby girl is almost ready to “come to the light” and it’s time to capture a few more images of her happiness in mommy’s belly. Let’s head to Taylor Bay and have fun with colorful fabrics, water, sands and sun!

Bobbie-Lynn and Simon were ready and excited and their great personalities and laughs made this second session fun, relaxed and truly enjoyable (despite the final cold dip in the water).

Ellen and Thomas

Ellen and Thomas got married last Friday on the white beach facing Ocean Club Resort… they planned an intimate wedding, just for the two of them and, despite the curious looks of the tourists passing by, they exchanged their vows in a very romantic way.

Often brides and grooms wonder if it’s really necessary to have a professional photographer for such a small event and my reply is alway the same: of course!!! Besides keeping memories in safekeeping, family and friends want to know every single detail of the wedding and there is no better way to make them feel part of it than showing them some stunning images.
