The Strelitz Family at The Somerset
Posted by Chris Mann Posted in Portraits |
Around Christmas and New Year is typically a time when we do a lot of family portraits - for island residents and visitors alike.
It’s the time of year when the whole family gets together - and a quick, fun, portrait session is a great way to make some memories. I certainly had fun working with the Strelitz family at The Somerset on Grace Bay last Friday!
With sunset portrait sessions it can be a bit bright and hard on the eyes if we go straight to the beach, so usually I like to find a nice location in the gardens of the resort to get some group shots done and maybe some individual portraits too. So we started in the croquet lawn area at The Somerset and worked our way down to the beach.
We’ve had some good weather in the last few weeks, but in Friday there were a few clouds around so the sunset didn’t really happen. But that’s OK - with clouds you get soft light so I took the opportunity to shoot some portraits.
Here are a few of my selections from our session.
Everybody on the steps that lead down to the infinity pool:

The whole family on the beach (there’s that soft light):

Jessica, backlit by the setting sun, in the walkway by the croquet lawn:

All the “kids” (well they’re not really kids any more but you know what I mean!)

Here’s Nathan:

And Randi:

Last but not least: E.J.
