Appreciation for an album

We always like to hear from our clients and find out what they like (or even don’t like) about our work - and we do get lots of feedback about the photographs themselves.
But despite the fact that we design over 100 albums a year for our clients, we don’t so often get comments from them about the album itself.
So it was especially nice to hear from Lydia and Garth about their album which they received recently.
Here’s what they said:
Thank you so much for our wonderful album.
We couldn’t be happier! You have done more than I could have asked for. Every time I show it to someone, they are amazed. One friend even said he’s “never seen a wedding album like that before.” Thank you for your patience with us, and thanks for capturing the moment so accurately. We will keep in touch and stop in to say Hello next time we are in TCI. Lydia and Garth
This album was one of our “flush album” designs - where the whole page is a single print bonded to a board backing - which gives us freedom to create a unique graphic design for each album, overlay pictures, use coloured panels and faded backgrounds, and so on to tell the story of the day.
In this album I chose a neutral silver-grey as the accent colour, since there were already strong colours in the images themselves. The design itself was kept very clean and modern, with no keylines or drop-shadows, and the pictures in contact with each other.
When we design albums we do give our clients an opportunity to tell us their preferences - and two rounds of changes are included in the album design process - but often an album works best if the client gives us a free hand to devise something unique with their images, as in this case.
Anyway here are some sample double-page spreads from the album - so judge for yourselves!
