Doug Gordon’s Workshop - two days of intensive learning!
Posted by Chris Mann Posted in General, News |
On Tuesday and Wednesday this week we took a break from shooting and did some listening and learning instead!
New York photographer Doug Gordon was with us to give us the benefit of his years of experience in photographing brides and grooms - and their families and friends.
Although Doug’s visit coincided with a weather front passing over the islands, so the weather wasn’t the usual Turks & Caicos sunshine and we had to dodge the rain showers and work indoors some of the time, we still managed to fit in a location shoot at The Somerset on Grace Bay.
Doug is well-known in the wedding photography business for his skill at posing people in ways that are both flattering and romantic - and doing so in the minimum time - important at a wedding when things can run late and nobody wants to spend more time than they have to away from the celebrations!
We learned some great techniques for creating special and memorable images, which we are really excited about and looking forward to using at future weddings! Many thanks to Doug, and to his team - Evan, Jessie and Brei - for making it such an informative and interesting couple of days!
Here are some shots of Doug at work…
