What do we do if it rains??

It’s a question we get asked quite often - maybe more often than you would imagine given our location in the “sunny Caribbean”.  On this particular day last week - it was throwing it down. There were puddles all around the pool deck and the outlook was grim. Oh yes and the power to the villa had just cut off just before I arrived for the shoot….

So everyone was standing around  -power off - no AC - rain pouring outside, the caterers had just arrived to set up for the evening birthday party….what shall we do???? Cancel? - Postpone??

Well we just started to “play” a little - we started off with some shots indoors using the natural light coming in through the big open windows.

Then we used the front door and its small porch area to capture a couple of family groups. (The kids wet hair was because they were in the “torrent” falling down to the right of the camera a few minutes before!!)

Meanwhile Jason was setting up things for the party and Rhys was following him around.

“I want my Daddy”

Then Jason jumped outside with his son Rhys and just started playing in the rain and the pool.

This is Rhys in the rain - inspired a little by the movie “300″.

The sun peaked around a cloud for 30 seconds…

Rhys loved the pool - he had already spent most of the day playing it - he just wanted more….

Finally just before sunset the rain let up, the power came back on (went off again - then came on again) and we spent a few minutes with the birthday girl Shanny and Jason……
