Well Ike has come and gone as Krys has mentioned - we have been lucky to escape with very little damage here on Providenciales. Our office internet connection is still not working so I am posting this from one of the resorts!

It seems that Grand Turk and the smaller islands to the eastern side of Turks & Caicos that were in the direct path of Hurricane Ike have suffered quite a lot of property damage - but contrary to some of the more sensational reports on some news stations there don’t seem to have been any fatalities anywhere in Turks & Caicos as far as we know at this time. Providenciales, where we are and where the vast majority of the resorts hotels condos and vacation villas are located, had just a little local flooding and some roof tile damage. Power was out in some areas but has now mostly been restored.
