Katherine & Robert’s Parrot Cay Wedding - part two

Posted by Andy Mann Posted in Weddings |

Following on from yesterday’s post about this “rock and roll wedding” this past weekend, the ceremony was held at an exclusive beachfront villa on the secluded island and resort of Parrot Cay.

With the villa on one side and the ocean on the other it was a wonderful setting for Katherine and Robert.

During the ceremony they each took a local rock and threw it into the ocean… as they did so, no one noticed the water coming up the beach!!

Katherine and Robert were “deputized” for the afternoon by Neil, the TCI Police Assistant Commissioner!

As the Parrot Cay staff were moving the rest of the wedding guests to the reception, we took a moment with Katherine and Robert.

Now all three of the above images were “posed” - I suggested the location, brought the two of them together - but the last image was all them….its a great example of what we do - we combine our knowledge of photography with a relaxed attitude and approach - helping the natural moments become even better!

This image is a big favorite as its Katherine’s mom and dad. They were watching the shoot for the above images and as Katherine and Robert were having so much fun - dad proclaimed “he wanted some of that” - so in the two of them leapt in…..love it !

Another sequence of shots! - Katherine wanted to have at least one picture at the old Pirate House that still exists in the middle of the island - so we jumped onto the main form of transport on the island - a golf cart. As I turned back, the sunlight was streaming in and they were both still having so much fun as we raced along the bumpy track to catch the last rays of sunset.

Rob has been in the TCI for years - when he was younger, and before the development on the island, he used to camp in this old derelict, genuine pirate house…

It was then back to the villa to change for the reception and have Katherine’s hair redone after the two golf cart rides!

Parrot Cay had turned the intimate main dining area into an amazing location for the reception.

The courtyard area outside was also spectacular for the welcoming cocktails and first dance.

You can have all the arty and creative pictures in the world, but it’s hard to beat a picture of a moment with you and your mum.

Later on in the evening, Robert and Katherine had a few minutes for a dance by themselves. I just love the “hidden” smile on Katherine’s face in the first shot and the elegance of the second.

With guests due to leave by boat at the end of the evening and time running out, there was just enough time to cut the cake (with an AXE!)…..

A big thank you to Katherine and Robert for inviting me to help with their wedding day. It was a “rockin” day and a great wedding. Also my thanks to Parrot Cay for hosting such a fabulous wedding and keeping everything running so smoothly - it really is one of my favourite places to shoot.
