Danielle and Brian’s Wedding at the Sands Resort on Grace Bay.

Danielle and Brian had planned a very simple, relaxed and low key wedding at the Sands Resort this past weekend. With just 20 people and everyone helping out with hair, makeup, collecting shells it was a low key affair, but made all the more special by the people who were there.

Brian was ready early….90 minutes before the wedding he was dressed and watching the end of a football game – ready to go!

Danielle having the final touches made.

I just like the “reportage” feel of this image – feels timeless..

As we were “running out of the door” we paused for a few minutes to capture a couple of images. There is a lot to be said for pure photojournalism, but then helping to “create” moments also has its merits. In 40 years time is anyone going to talk about posed or unposed or just that it looks great?

Danielle’s mom had scoured the beach for hours to collect enough shells for everyone – then she wrote their names on each one!

He cannot wait can he?

They then both walked down the aisle together….cool.

Full media coverage from a friends’ camcorder.

Those shells were then put to good use.

On our way back from the beach we stopped next to the Hemmingway’s restaurant at the Sands.

The actual reception was at Aqua. It’s right next to Turtle Cove Marina which you can see on the right.

Nila and everyone at Aqua had done and did a great job,

Finally a quick picture of the best man – just had to include him as he did an awesome toast or was it a roast….??

Perhaps with all the economic stuff going on in the world right now, this style of casual, personal and intimate wedding with close friends and family will be even more popular? Makes sense to us.

Thank you to Danielle and Brian for inviting us to help with their wedding.
