Lydia & James Perry

Posted by David Gallardo

Perry_056smallLydia and James Perry came to the Turks & Caicos to celebrate their wedding anniversary and for such a special occasion they decided to do a beach photo session with us.

For the first part we did some photos around the beautiful gardens of the Seven Stars where I had a great time finding some really cool locations.

Just half an hour before sunset we arrived on a very quiet Grace Bay beach, where Lydia and James enjoyed a couple of glasses of champagne as part of their portrait session and had some photos takenĀ  until it got dark.

Tanya and Paul at Nikki Beach – the movie

Posted by Chris Mann

Gordon_thumbA few weeks ago Kellie posted some of the great photos that she and Anita shot at the wedding of Tanya and Paul Gordon at Nikki Beach – now it’s the movie department’s turn!

We’re following on behind because it’s always a slower process editing a movie than it is working with stills – not because it’s harder necessarily but just because it’s a much more time-consuming process reviewing the clips, deciding which ones to use, cutting them to fit with music, grading the color, and so on. Anyway, here we have the finished result… Read the rest of this entry »

The Wedding of Jennifer and Tom at Royal West Indies

Posted by Ileana Ravasio

Kraft_240rcThe first love is never forgotten… they were high-school sweethearts, then college lovers and finally husband and wife. What a beautiful couple Jennifer and Tom make!

Obviously the wedding, hosted on the beach at Royal West Indies and perfectly organized by Estelle from Nila Destinations, was the highlight of the trip, but Jennifer and Tom made the best of their vacation truly exploring the Turks and Caicos Islands, discovering hidden spots that are often known only by the locals. We never stop learning… engage09 conference

Posted by Andy Mann

engage-frntLearning is a fundamental part of Tropical Imaging. It’s part of our DNA. We love new techniques, new ideas, new ways of doing things whether it’s in Photoshop, with the camera or on a bigger scale using multimedia and movies to tell your story. Aside from the technical “how can we do it better” side of the company we also have the marketing and “business side” and I recently went to the Cayman Islands to attend engage09 – a small but powerful wedding conference with some of the top people in the industry. What did I learn? Who did I see and meet?

Anne & Mike’s First Anniversary

Posted by Chris Mann

Hanrahan_thumbAnne and Mike were married in Turks & Caicos a year ago this week – and decided to spend their one-year anniversary at The Sands on Grace Bay, where they got married.

As part of their celebrations I met with them for an anniversary photo-session – something that we offer to all our wedding clients free of charge!

The Sands has some attractive gardens so we took the opportunity to get a few shots there before heading to the beach… Read the rest of this entry »

The Wedding of Jessica and Doug at Grace Bay Club

Posted by Ileana Ravasio

Phaup_222Wednesday morning: “Can you cover a wedding on Friday?”

“Let me see, it’s our peak wedding season and we are very busy… Yes! We do have a photographer available and we will be honored to cover the special event”.

It all started with a last minute phone call and it ended with some wonderful images that will keep Jessica and Doug’s wedding memories alive forever – that’s what we do and love. The couple got married on the beach of Grace Bay Club – their special, intimate, precious day was everything they dreamed of. Read the rest of this entry »

Graduation time in Turks and Caicos !

Posted by Andy Mann

Heastie_frntIt’s that time of year again. Wow how fast it comes around. We were delighted to get a call from Sonia who wanted to capture this special moment with a shoot for her daughter Richea. With a gorgeous suite at the Grace Bay Club Estates as a backdrop it was a simple pleasure to help.

My favorite little model: Derek

Posted by Anita Marcus

Barreras-036firstLast week I went over to the Grace Bay Club to take some photos with 16 month old Derek and his parents Jeannine and Michael. The first day I went over, the photo shoot did not happen. Little Derek is on vacation you know, and he was still in the middle of his siesta. We decided not to wake him up and try again the next day.

The next day Derek was just smiling away at me but the sun outside had changed for some dark clouds and rain. The last couple of days we saw a pattern in the weather where it seemed to be raining towards sunset time. So take number 3 for the next early morning. Read the rest of this entry »

Let’s check it out…

Posted by Ileana Ravasio

Nester_125Planning a destination wedding is not always easy – coming to the island to see the locations, meet the people, finalize the decisions and enjoy the wonderful Turks & Caicos sun and sea is an excellent idea.

Ryan and Marc are looking forward to pronounce their vows in February next year – thanks to Diane’s great organization, from Island Harmony, most details are already ticked off the list.

We love to get to know our couples a little better prior to the wedding and we are pleased to offer them a free engagement session: wonderful images, confidence, a real proof of our work, and a lot of fun are guaranteed – not a bad idea is it? Read the rest of this entry »

We’re going to be “Brilliant”!!

Posted by Chris Mann

brilliant_thumbOnce upon a time, there was a company called “Fish Frames”, which specialized in underwater photography and video. As it grew, and started doing more and work on dry land instead of underwater, it took on a new name and became “Tropical Imaging”. And that name’s worked very well for our business over the last ten or more years.

But sometimes people call us “Tropical Images”, or the phone rings and we get someone asking for “Tropical Shipping” or “Tropical Car Rental”, so we felt we needed a new distinctive and easy-to-remember name for our wedding and portrait photography. And although Tropical Imaging describes what we do and where we are, it doesn’t really convey the fun and excitement that we try to bring to our work… Read the rest of this entry »
