Danielle & Patrick

Posted by Kellie Hayes

burchett0243cover.jpg

Not all of our weddings are multiple days with 150 people, we do get quite a few close intimate gatherings such as this special day. On January 10th Danielle and Patrick pronounced their vows in front of close family and friends on beautiful Grace Bay Beach.

Most of their family and friends made their way from Denver to stay at The Sands Resort where our lovely couple were married. A trip that was rewarded with gorgeous weather and beautiful sunsets! Read the rest of this entry »

Fashion Show at The Somerset on Grace Bay

Posted by Chris Mann

sfs07_150.jpgLast Friday, Kellie and I covered the second Fashion Show at The Somerset on Grace Bay.

The first one was held outdoors in the daytime last June, but this time the organizers decided to hold it at O’Soleil restaurant in the evening. We brought our studio lights to help us capture the event. Space was a little tight (we were shooting in amongst the tables set up for the guests) but I think we got some cool pictures. Pirates of The Turks & Caicos - The Legend of the Black Conch

Posted by Chris Mann

pirates_150.jpgPantomime is back! Two years ago, the Turks & Caicos Friends of the Arts Foundation staged TCI’s first-ever Christmas pantomime, “A Caribbean Cinderella”, written and directed by John Garvin - and ever since islanders have been asking “When’s the next one?”

So this year John and the team have created a new show with an original script, based on the pirate history of these islands in the 1700s - but in the true panto tradition, packed with jokes, songs, dance, spectacle, and fun for all the family. Read the rest of this entry »

The Platypus Video Workshop comes to Turks & Caicos!

Posted by Chris Mann

platypus_150.jpgLast week we learned a lot! For eight days, Andy, Preston, David and myself were barraged with ideas, techniques, tips, tricks, and best practice - in the world of “video journalism”.

Renowned photojournalists Dirck Halstead and PF Bentley brought their “Platypus Workshop” to our Neptune Plaza office to turn the four of us into “filmmakers” - in other words to teach us how to transform our wedding and commercial video productions into professional video documentaries, with the style and impact of TV shows such as NBC’s 60 Minutes and ABC’s Nightline.

Halloween 2007 at Turtle Cove

Posted by Chris Mann

hw_show045_150.jpgEvery year at Halloween, we set up our studio lights at Tiki Hut in Turtle Cove Marina and shoot “instant portraits” of all the revellers in their colorful costumes - with all proceeds from the shoot going to UNICEF.

This year, although it was overcast and windy there was a great turnout - and although the final total isn’t in yet it looks like we raised over $1000 for UNICEF.

Many thanks to all the happy people who waited patiently in line for their photos - we were so busy our Sony printer couldn’t keep up with the demand and kept stopping to cool down! Read the rest of this entry »

Welcome to the new Tropical Imaging blog!

Posted by Chris Mann

As a result of our move to a new web hosting company, we found that we had to update our blog software - something we’d been planning to do for a while in any case, but which weren’t able to do on the old host setup. So now we’re running on the latest version of WordPress instead of b2Evolution, which should make it easier and quicker for us to get blog posts online.

Our old blog is still available so that you can view previous entries - follow this link or click the one in the sidebar.
